Audit report per code, one consolidated findings register

ISM, ISPS and MLC are audited as one campaign, because that is how they exist on board. They share the evidence base, the shipboard interviews and the attendance — auditing them separately would bill the same attendance three times and would still miss the findings that sit between them.

In scope

  • Internal audit against the ISM Code, covering the Safety Management System as implemented rather than as written.
  • Internal audit against the ISPS Code and the approved Ship Security Plan, including the security drills and records the CSO must be able to produce.
  • Internal audit against MLC 2006, against DMLC Part I and the owner's Part II.
  • Verification that findings from the previous internal and external audits are closed, with the evidence of closure.
  • One consolidated findings register, each entry carrying the code, the clause, the severity and the period for action.

Not in scope

  • External or certification audit. That is the act of the flag or the Recognised Organisation, and we do not perform it.
  • Writing the corrective action, amending the SMS or drafting the Ship Security Plan. We identify; the document remains the owner's.
  • Certification of any system we audited — see the independence note.

Declared so the conversation happens before the campaign, not in the middle of it.

Deliverables

What you receive

  1. Internal audit report per code, in the owner's report format where one is prescribed.
  2. Consolidated findings register with severity and period for action.
  3. Evidence pack supporting each finding.
  4. Detailed Service Report.
  5. Crew summary.

What drives the effort

These move the size of the campaign. None of them moves the standard it is measured against.

These drive effort, not price. Pricing is quoted after the specification call, together with the documents we will need from you.

The audit record is the owner's. Beyond the cover page, no part of the report is shared outside the company without the DPA's written authorisation.

Independence. We do not audit a management system we wrote, and we do not certify a system we audited. Where either applies, we say so before the scope opens.
