Verification that the vessel tolerates the failures its class declares — and that the people operating it can be shown to know why.

This family covers both halves of DP capability, because the charterer audits both. The vessel half is sequential: the FMEA establishes the worst-case failure, the proving trials demonstrate it, the operational state documents derive from both, and the annual programme keeps the demonstration current. A scope bought out of that order cannot be defended, and we say so before the campaign rather than during it. The people half — competence assessment and CPD — answers to the same instruments and to the same officer, because an ASOG nobody on the bridge can explain is a document, not a control.
